Hey there, I am Aimee!
I live, work, photograph, adventure and get my witchy on in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and am the face behind Witchy in Washington. This is an introduction blog about my path, values, and how I became the witchy woman I am today! Every decade has been a blessing and made me who I am today.
In high school, I had a very influential Science teacher who helped mold me into being the witchy person I am today. Even though she was a science teacher and very much a woman of science, she always influenced us to be in nature and do things naturally. She taught us to avoid chemicals and eat unhealthy foods. After high school, I would visit her, and she taught me how to clean with vinegar and essential oils and took me to my first yoga classes. That experience stuck with me!
I still keep in contact with her to this day, and she’s probably the most influential person in my life outside my parents.
I moved from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest and found my place. Nature, the peace, and the slower pace was my jam! I met an outdoors man and him and I bonded and vibed with our love of the outdoors and nature. To this day we still chase those adventures together.
Fast forward to when I had kids, It was important for me to use all-natural things on my babies. From food to diapers, I used cloth diapers as much as possible (BTW, that was a ton of work) because that was important to me! As time passed, I learned how to make my laundry soap and processed loads of food from scratch as much as possible. I reduced all the chemicals in my house and did everything I could to keep everything clean.
Later, I started canning food, gardening, using essential oils, and cleaning my house. I keep evolving!!!
Now that the kids are older and I am in a position to have more freedom, I am all about living my best life and putting things in perspective. I went to Bali for 3 weeks in February of 2020 and went to a social media, marketing, and photography boot camp, and I came back a different person!
Now I am living a more simple and basic bitch life and valuing the time I have with friends, family, and myself. I am not only chasing a dollar with my mad website and photography skills but simultaneously chasing the next adventure. I am also creating a good balance for my mental and physical health.
This was a difficult journey, but it was such a learning curve. I go on solo trips to clear my mind, do loads of camping alone or with friends and family, and live the most natural life possible! I am raw with my emotions and learned to be a straight shooter.
Ensure you follow the blog to follow my PNW adventures and learn witchy tricks and tips! It is never too late to start your witchy journey!
Until the next time, I may be strolling through the woods topless on a secret trail, shooting the Milkyway over a mountain, chasing the northern lights in the Olympic National Park, or foraging for chanterelle mushrooms, soaking up every part of the PNW in all seasons!
